You don't always need to wait for customers to submit through a form. Loveboard lets you add testimonials manually — perfect for importing existing reviews or adding testimonials you've received through other channels.
When to Add Manually
- Seeding your Wall of Love — Add a few testimonials before your first form gets submissions
- Importing existing reviews — Move testimonials from emails, social media, or other platforms
- Adding screenshots or quotes — Enter testimonials from LinkedIn recommendations, tweets, or messages
- Demo purposes — Populate your embeds for internal demos or presentations
How to Add a Testimonial Manually
- Go to Testimonials in the sidebar
- Click Add Testimonial
- Fill in the testimonial details:
- Customer Name — The person's name
- Star Rating — Select 1-5 stars
- Testimonial Text — The review content
- Additional Fields — Any other information (email, company, job title, etc.)
- Click Save
The testimonial is created with a "New" status. You still need to Approve it before it appears in your embeds.
Important Notes
- Manually added testimonials are text only — you cannot add video testimonials manually
- They behave exactly like form-submitted testimonials once approved
- They appear in embeds alongside form-submitted testimonials
- They count toward your testimonial totals in analytics
Best Practices
Be Authentic
Only add real testimonials from real customers. Fabricating testimonials damages trust and may violate advertising regulations in your jurisdiction.
Get Permission
If you're adding a testimonial from an email, tweet, or conversation, make sure the customer has given you permission to display it publicly.
Include Context
Add as much information as possible — company name, job title, etc. This adds credibility to the testimonial when displayed in your embeds.
