Video testimonials are the most impactful form of social proof.

Loveboard makes collecting them effortless with in-browser recording — your customers don't need to download any app or handle video files.

How In-Browser Recording Works

Loveboard's video recording happens entirely in the customer's web browser. Here's the step-by-step experience from the customer's perspective:

Step 1: Permission Request

When the customer clicks "Record Video," their browser asks for permission to access the camera and microphone. They click Allow to proceed.

Step 2: Camera Preview

The customer sees a live preview from their camera. This lets them check their framing, lighting, and background before they start recording.

Step 3: Recording

The customer clicks the Record button and starts speaking. They see:

  • A live preview of themselves
  • A timer showing how long they've been recording
  • The maximum recording time for your plan

The recording automatically stops when the time limit is reached.

Step 4: Review

After stopping the recording, the customer can:

  • Watch the recording — Play it back to see how it looks and sounds
  • Re-record — Start over if they're not happy with it
  • Confirm — Accept the recording and proceed to submission

Step 5: Upload and Submit

Once confirmed, the video is uploaded in the background. The customer fills in any additional fields (name, email, etc.) and clicks Submit.

Video Duration Limits

The maximum recording length depends on your plan:

PlanMax DurationMax Videos
Free2 minutes3 total
Pro2 minutesUnlimited
Business2 minutesUnlimited

Approaching Your Limit

When you're getting close to your video testimonial limit, a warning banner appears in your dashboard. Once you reach the limit, new video submissions are blocked until you upgrade.

Browser Compatibility

Video recording works on all modern browsers:

BrowserSupported
Google Chrome✅ (Recommended)
Mozilla Firefox
Microsoft Edge
Safari (macOS)
Safari (iOS)
Chrome (Android)

Not supported: Internet Explorer, very outdated browser versions.

Video Storage and Security

  • Videos are stored on Cloudflare's global CDN for fast, reliable delivery worldwide
  • Upload URLs are presigned with time expiry — they can't be reused or accessed without authorization
  • Videos are served over HTTPS for encrypted delivery
  • Only workspace members with appropriate permissions can manage video testimonials

Video Testimonials in Embeds

Video testimonials display with a play button overlay in your embeds. Visitors can click to watch the video directly within the embed.

  • Wall of Love — Video testimonials appear as cards with a play button. They can be mixed with text testimonials or filtered to show only videos.
  • Carousel — Video cards scroll alongside text cards
  • Single Testimonial — Feature a specific video testimonial prominently
  • Badge — Counts video testimonials in the total review count

Tips for Getting Great Video Testimonials

Coach Your Customers

When asking for a video testimonial, give them guidance:

  • Suggest a quiet, well-lit location
  • Recommend they keep it to 30-60 seconds
  • Provide 2-3 questions they can answer:
  1. "What challenge were you facing before using [product]?"
  2. "How has [product] helped you?"
  3. "What would you tell someone considering [product]?"

Make It Low-Pressure

Reassure customers that it doesn't need to be perfect:

  • "No need for a professional setup — your phone or laptop camera is perfect"
  • "You can re-record if you want"
  • "Even 30 seconds is incredibly valuable"

Ask Your Biggest Fans

Video requires more effort than text. Target your most enthusiastic customers — those who have already given positive feedback, left a review elsewhere, or expressed gratitude in support conversations.

Combine with Text

Set your form to "Both" so customers who aren't comfortable on camera can still submit a text testimonial. You lose zero potential testimonials this way.
